Jalousie Plantation Resort & Spa opened in October 1992 and is a deluxe, hideaway nested in the valley of the towering Gros and Petit Piton mountains on the southwest coast of St. Lucia. Occupying 320 acres, this magnificent property is replete with the natural tropical vegetation of the surrounding rain forests. Jalousie Plantation boasts one of the most sophisticated spas in all of the Caribbean. Seven full-time spa therapists deliver more than 55 different treatments, ranging from manicures and pedicures to hydrotherapy massage, seaweed wraps and aromatherapy. Treatments are available at a moderate cost.

A large pool is adjacent to the beach as is a PADI dive center. Snorkel from the beach in the hotel's Marine Reserve. Non-motorized water sports are complimentary. Three hole, par three golf course and putting green. Lighted tennis courts. Fully equipped fitness center with state of the art equipment and aerobics classes. World class spa, sauna and plunge pools. The "Learning Center" has supervised activities for children from age five If you must conduct business on holiday, full business services are available at the Great House.

DINING - Includes incredible sunsets—The Verandah Restaurant, The Bayside Bar & Grill, The Pier Restaurant, The Plantation Restaurant. Extensive wine list. Depending on their whim, guests may dine casually or elegantly:

	Pier Restaurant: This open-air restaurant at the water's edge, with picturesque views of the Jalousie Cove Marina, showcases fresh seafood and local specialties for dinner. On Sundays, this is the spot for a tropical buffet brunch accompanied by the mellow rhythms of a jazz band.
	Verandah Restaurant: Each day begins here, on an expansive wrap-around terrace overlooking the Great Lawn. Bountiful breakfast buffets include fresh fruits, juices, home-baked breads, muffins and pastries, eggs and omelettes cooked to order and a hearty selection of pancakes, French toast, ham, sausage and home fried potatoes.
	Bayside Bar and Grill: Perfectly positioned between the pool and beach and beneath the soaring peak of the Petit Piton, this open air grill and buffet offers a wide luncheon selection of salads, vegetables, meats and cheeses.
	Plantation Room: This elegant dining room features sophisticated five-course Euro- Caribbean dinners complemented by moonlit bay views from upstairs at The Jacquot Greathouse.
	Bars and Lounges: Jalousie Plantation offers four bars and lounges, including a juice bar at the spa; the Palm Court for afternoon tea and sunset views; the Pier Bar by the sailboats in the bay; and the Bayside Bar, delivering drinks to chaises by the pool and on the beach.

Accomodations

12 Sugar Mill rooms. 6 in two separate buildings. Closest to pool, beach, and main buildings. The Sugar Mill rooms offer large bedroom with king or twin beds, large bath and dressing area, sitting area, and outdoor sun terrace.

65 Villas spread throughout the property. King bed, large bath, patio, plunge pool.

37 Villa Suites spread throughout the property. Similar to Villa but larger with a separate living room. Includes private plunge pool and patio.

Villa views may be tropical forest, mountain, or ocean. The villa and villa suites are individual cottages spread over 325 acres.

All accommodations feature air conditioning, ceiling fans, mini bar, coffee maker, bathrobes, safe, phone with data port, satellite TV, VCR, hair dryer.

SPORTS & ACTIVITIES:

Watersports: In addition to an enormous fresh water swimming pool, 100 feet in length, guests enjoy a picture-perfect private beach and protected coral marine reserve at Jalousie Plantation. Equipment and instruction are available for snorkeling, scuba diving, waterskiing, windsurfing, kayaking, aquacycling, sailboats, hobie cats, and catamarans.

wpe1A.gif (41358 bytes) Golf: An executive golf course features three holes that are replicas of world-famous course holes: the 13th at Harbour Town on Hilton Head Island, the 15th at Olympic Club in San Francisco and the legendary 8th at Royal Troon in Scotland. Each hole is played from three different tee-offs, for a nine-hole experience.

Tennis: Carved into the slopes of the Pitons high above the beach, the riveting views from the tennis courts are an inspiration. The resort's tennis pros lead clinics, organize guest tournaments and give private lessons on four Laykold hard surface courts, three of which are lit (as well as some of the guests) for night play. The Pro Shop offers ball machines, racket stringing, tennis apparel and gear at a moderate cost.

Other Sports: Basketball squash, croquet, ping pony, hiking, horseback riding.

Entertaining Diversions: Guests at Jalousie Plantation never run out of things to do. Additional diversions include chess with life-sized pieces on an enormous board over looking the beach and sea, movie presentations, weekly patios language classes, weekly history classes, birdwatching, Coco Loco Parties, Carnival "Jump Up" Night, St. Lucia Theme Night and much more.
